Here is a brief job description for each position:

HVAC Apprentice

Job Summary: The Apprentice HVAC Technician 1 is an entry-level position and works under the direction of a journey level position. Responsibilities for this position can include performing maintenance and repair for basic residential home heating and air quality systems, as well as refrigeration systems; ability to perform heating and cooling maintenance inspections without assistance. There may be a need to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities: The Apprentice HVAC Technician I will learn and apply basic HVAC tools and technology including installation, relocation, and maintenance of HVAC equipment and systems, diagnose malfunctions of HVAC equipment and systems and/or components for the purpose of identifying repair and replacement needs; installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration units; The Apprentice is required to attain established levels of proficiency and qualifications for eligibility to advance to the next level in the Apprenticeship Program.

Key Components:

  • On-the-Job Training (OJT) must Consist of at least 2,000 hours per year of the apprenticeship.
  • Related Instruction (RI) must have at least 144 hours of related instruction per year of the apprenticeship

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED.·
  • Must be at least 18 years minimum age
  • Must be proficient with using an electronic mobile device; ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy and tact while maintaining a good working relationship with co-workers, vendors, and customers; ability to multi-task; excellent written and oral communication skills.

Plumbing Apprentice

Job Summary: The Apprentice Plumber Technician 1 is an entry-level position and works under the direction of a journey level position. Responsibilities for this position can include performing diagnosis and repair for basic plumbing problems; performing plumbing inspections and understanding how household plumbing works and where problems can occur. There may be a need to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities: The Apprentice Plumber Technician I will learn and apply basic plumbing tools and technology including joining pipes and fittings, trade math, safety, coding & permits, water supply, sewage disposal and more. The Apprentice is required to attain established levels of proficiency and qualifications for eligibility to advance to the next level in the Apprenticeship Program.
