Thanking Those On The Front Line

Co-Workers On The Front Line

Here at CroppMetcalfe, we want to highlight all our co-workers who are still serving during these difficult times. We especially want to recognize those who are fighting on the front lines.

Nadia Pollard joined CroppMetcalfe in May 2018 as a Customer Service Representative in our Fairfax branch. For almost two years, Nadia had been serving our customers full time and going to nursing school full time, eventually earning her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and becoming a licensed Registered Nurse.

This past January, Nadia went part-time at CM to accept a full-time position as a nurse with the University of Maryland Capitol Region Health, serving those in need in the Emergency Room Level 2 Trauma Unit. When asked about working during these difficult times, Nadia said, “My time as a nurse has been challenging and rewarding! Honestly, I would have never imagined that I would be serving on the front line during a pandemic within my first year as a nurse."

With all the stories on the news, one can only imagine what all of those on the frontline are going through and how it is affecting them. “It has definitely been a tough experience for me and all healthcare workers- from the long hours, the repetitive exposure to the virus, the number of deaths, and the anxiety of possibly infecting our loved ones."

However, Nadia still finds happiness in being a nurse.  “Ironically, I would not trade my profession. Life is such a beautiful thing, and I get joy knowing that I put my best foot forward with each patient that I come in contact with."

Still being the 5 Star co-worker she is, Nadia had some tips for her CM friends. “My best advice for my CroppMetcalfe family during this time is to continue social distancing, practice good hand hygiene and build a strong immune system through a healthy diet."

Nadia, from all of us here at CroppMetcalfe, we want to say thank you for serving our customers while serving those in need on the front lines. We send you well wishes and hope that you and your family are staying safe!
