Why is Duct Cleaning Important?

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is a crucially important component to the well being of your family, yet it often gets overlooked. Everything from pollen and pet hair to mold and dust mites can collect in your ductwork and enter the air that your family breathes.

The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) recommends getting your ducts cleaning every 3 to 5 years to ensure you and your family are breathing in healthy air.

Our Process

CroppMetcalfe follows all of the latest guidelines from NADCA for duct cleanings. Here is the process that makes us different from the rest which will improve your indoor air quality:

  • Attach our specially designed vacuum to the supply side of your air duct system.
  • Seal each register in your home. This makes the suction stronger.
  • We then go to the furthest register from the furnace and/or air handler and remove the seal from that register and blow high-pressure compressed air into the register.
  • After that, we remove the register and insert a “skipper” into the duct work. The skipper is a high-pressure air hose with a ball at the end of it. This ball is covered with small air vents that shoot out compressed air in every direction. This ball then sweeps the duct and knocks everything loose that is in the duct work.

This procedure is repeated at every register in your house. After all of your supply duct work is cleaned to our satisfaction, we will attach our vacuum to the return side of your air duct system. We will repeat the entire cleaning process on your return grills and return duct work. After all your ducts are cleaned, we will air wash the coil, and the blower wheel.
