"3 weeks ago the furnace in my home failed. Within 3 hours of calling CroppMetcalfe, service technician Jeff was here and quickly and efficiently found the problem. Being an older model furnace, he didn't have the necessary part on the truck to repair it, but he was able to perform a temporary repair so that at least we'd have heat until the part arrived.
Later that afternoon, Mr. Wolfarth called me to tell me that the part was on back order and other parts would be necessary, and that brought the price beyond the point where it would have been practical to repair it. I requested a quote on new equipment. The next day, Donny Buckingham was here, and was most helpful in guiding me in the selection of new equipment, and helping me decide that it would be wise to replace the furnace, humidifier and A/C units.
I signed the contract at 4:30 in the afternoon, and at 9:30 the next morning, Sean and Elmer were here to install the new equipment. They worked tirelessly through the entire day, not stopping until the job was completed late Friday night. And I must say, in the more than 40 years I've been a homeowner, I don't think I've ever seen better craftsmanship and a more professional installation. They were both very courteous and helpful, and made sure that I was totally satisfied with the entire job.
Everyone I dealt with at CroppMetcalfe from the first telephone call to request service until the job was completed was most helpful. Please relay my thanks to all involved for the excellent job that everyone did with this installation.

"I would like to express my satisfaction and gratitude for the service and professionalism of two of your staff members, John Maksanty and his security install Eric. Aside from doing an excellent job in explaining CroppMetcalfe's security services and installation procedures, both John and Eric insisted that there was a strange smell of gas coming from my basement service room and that I call for immediate emergency service.
I delayed calling until the installer Eric arrived yesterday, and while he was there, the Washington Gas emergency responder arrived and found a very large gas leak coming from a pipe to my gas furnace. There has always been a strange odor in my basement, and had it not been for John and Eric's good sense for me to call for help, the problem would have continued for months/years to come. They both deserve to be commended for going "above and beyond" their normal sales and installation duties, showing a true sense of concern for your customers safety and security. "I had a partially clogged shower drain that had been getting worse each day. I decided that I needed to unclog it before the weekend and fix it properly. I do not know how to snake a drain so I used Angie's List to find a plumber in the area. I called CroppMetcalfe to schedule the appointment for Friday morning. The plumber showed up on time and proceeded to troubleshoot the drain clog. He found a fistful of grout in the shower drain from the original construction of my townhouse. He also snaked the toilet since the drains were connected. He found a contractor pencil and a broken flapper in the toilet. However, due to the location of the clog, I needed a new toilet. He went out and got a brand-new toilet and replaced the old one within 20 minutes of arriving back at the house. I was not charged for any of the toilet troubleshooting work and only paid for the shower snaking and installation of the new toilet. The plumber was very clean and professional while in the house. I recommend using this company if you have any plumbing problems due to the excellent troubleshooting."

"This was our first full summer in our house and we quickly realized the upstairs A/C zone was not cooling the area at all. We would get home from work to find the system had ran all day and the temperature never got below 80 degrees. We called CroppMetcalfe and they responded very quickly.
First, Mr. Neil Dodson came to the house to perform a test of the air flow from our vents and assess the condition of both systems and associated duct work. Soon thereafter, Neil provided a list of his findings and the proposed solution, along with the estimated price for each piece of the proposed repair work. This was extremely helpful because it allowed my wife and I to discuss our immediate needs and prioritize the repairs. Throughout this process, we had no pressure from Neil or any unwanted 'salesman' speak. The problem turned out to be integrity issues with the existing duct work and our attic was missing a significant portion of the necessary insulation. Ultimately, we made our decision for the specific work to be done and contacted Neil. Neil was able to schedule the repairs to occur within five (5) business days, even in the middle of the summer.
The repairs required two different crews to come to the house, one to repair, seal and insulate the existing duct work and another to install insulation. Neil managed this effort and our expectations extremely well. The work was completed by a knowledgeable and friendly crew and on time. Today, the upstairs portion of our home is very comfortable, even on the 100 degree days we've been experiencing...and the A/C actually turns off once a comfortable temperature is reached!
I'm not old, but I'm old-fashioned when it comes to customer service. All the consumer really wants is to have our expectations managed, receive honest answers, pay reasonable prices, trust the work will be completed on time and feel comfortable the service provider has the customer's best interest in mind. With CroppMetcalfe, we experienced all of this. Neil Dodson was a big part of this being a positive experience and we would recommend CroppMetcalfe to anyone."
